My work with bridal hair and makeup is all about timelessness; the creation of a look that fits the style of your wedding while also carrying across generations to come. I call it the no-cringe-zone! All of the brides that I work with seem to be cut from the same cloth, so the speak. They may want a boho look, soft and romantic, or natural beauty. Sure, the style can change but the thread of enhancing your own natural look remains the same. I don’t ever want to disguise you or cover you up, makeup and hair design is all about bringing you into the light and I’m just here with my magic fairy wand, a gazillion brushes, and one or two pots of shimmer to light the candle.
The Day You Trial
Your hair and makeup trial’s all about nailing the brief. That means that we discuss your theme, the colour scheme, what you like and definitely don’t like (sometimes that’s easier to pin down), and spend time looking through all of your Pinterest pins/Instagram saves. Once we finalise your look, I get to work creating the vision on you. There’s always time for questions and changes so that you’re completely happy with what’s coming on game day (aka wedding day). We lock in the schedule and the stress starts to melt away…
The trial usually lasts 2 – 3 hours and is always done during daylight hours so you can see how the makeup will look in natural light.
The Day You 'I Do'
So, the big day has arrived and the whole room is full of energy. Champagne (or copious amount of coffee/herbal tea) flowing, your favourite playlist on repeat, and a joy that’s unique to you and your closest companions. This time, before you walk down the aisle, can be just as special as the main event.
This is also the time that we execute the look we created on trial day, starting with the bridesmaids and ending with the bride. I’ll also fit any veils, flowers, or accessories before sending you on your way!
