Frequently Asked Questions

With so much planning to do and things to think about it’s easy to forget those questions that run through your head at 3am. Hopefully this will answer them and a few more besides.

Q: Is there a minimum booking requirement?

A: During peak wedding season (October-April) there is a minimum wedding booking requirement of 4 services eg. 2 x hair and make up OR 4 x hair or make up.

Q: Do you work with an assistant?

A: I work on my own most of the time, however for larger wedding parties or to avoid a silly o’clock start time I have a gorgeous team of artists /stylists that I call upon to assist (subject to availability).

Q: Do I have to have a trial run?

A: Whilst it is not a requirement of booking that you have a trial run it is highly recommended. The trial run allows you to see how you will look prior to the big day and make any changes to suit. If you regularly wear make up will the artist be able to achieve your specific look? If you hardly ever wear make up are you confident that you will still look and feel like you on the day? Is your hair long enough to achieve the style you require? Will this style suit you? Will you need to buy hair extensions. A trial run will provide answers to these questions.

Q: When should I book a hair and make up trial?

A: I would recommend 2-3 months prior to the big day this will allow you time to grow your hair or get it cut as required or buy any hair extensions. I have on occasion done hair and make up trials for brides a year or a week ahead of their wedding because sometimes logistically that the only time they can make it …. And that’s fine too.

Q: Can I book bridesmaids in for a trial run?

A: Yes you can add them to your trial booking at the same date and place.

Q: What if I change my mind about the hairstyle after the trial?

A: Many brides opt to have a second trial run sometimes just to give themselves another option or sometimes it’s a complete change of plan. This is fine, just contact me to arrange another trial date to suit. Usual trial rates apply.

Q: How do I book?

A: Click here to send an enquiry, if I am available I will send through a quote. Once you have approved the quote I will forward a contract, once signed and returned a deposit can be paid to secure your date ….Et Voila…. You’re booked!

Q: How much is the deposit?

A: The deposit required to secure the date is $100 this is deducted from the final balance on the day and is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Q: What are the payment options?

A: Payment can be made by direct deposit paid in fully 7 days prior to the big day. Cash payment can be accepted on the day prior to services and with prior arrangement.

Q: How long does it take per person?

A: This depends on the service as a guide make up takes approximately 1hr per person and hair between 30-45 mins. A full 2 hours+ will be set aside for bride hair and make up.

Q: What should I do in preparation for the day?

A: Hair should be clean, tangle free and dry. Preferably washed the night before. You may condition your hair the night before from mid lengths to ends only.

Do not towel dry hair instead squeeze out excess moisture, comb through hair to ensure there are not tangles and blow dry with a brush to ensure the cuticles lie flat and hair is in optimum condition.

Cleanse and moisturise skin as normal in the morning, ensuring no make up or mascara is left around the eyes.

Q: Will you be able to fix my veil

A: Absolutely the veil will be secured with instructions given to mum or the most well behaved bridesmaid on how to remove ready for the evening dancing.

Q: Can I add extra people on the day?

A: The schedule for the day will be set based on numbers advised when booking, however if there is time available when the full bridal party is complete then any extra persons may be accommodated.

Q: Do you just work with brides or do you offer hair and make up services for other occasions?

A: I work primarily with brides but also offer hair and make up for engagement shoots, balls and school formals.

If you have any further questions which I haven’t answered please don’t hesitate to contact me.
